Dance A-level
Unit 4 A2
Unit 4 is a chance to learn about employment opportunities in the performing arts industry. Through lectures and independent research students will learn about the type of jobs available to dancer/performers and how to develop the next step in their training. Students learn how to create a portfolio that can be used to gain employment through the creation of their own promotional website and they will understand the audition process, the role of agents and equity and how to gain work. This unit prepares the student who wishes to pursue a career in performing arts for this competitive field. How am I marked?
Most of the marks for this unit are for the development of a portfolio that will enable the student to find work in the field. This is usually a promotional website featuring images and video of the dancer. Students are assessed on their ability to recognise what they need to do to get work in the industry.
